06/03/13 - ShadoCon Gaming Revamped! |
We are reworking and revamping your gaming experience at ShadoCon this year!
ShadoCon will have 3 different game rooms this year. First, we will be bringing back the console gaming room. We are making sure to throw in some cool imports and also some of your favorites. Most people usually only pack their console rooms with tournament style games; we wanted to hit on more of the casual side with fun party games as well. Make sure to stop on by.
The second room will be set up by our good friends at S.E.A.D.S. for your PC gaming fix. Expect all your usual favorites and 10 of those computers purely dedicated to only "League of Legends"!
Our third room is a new addition to ShadoCon - a brand new Handheld Gaming Lounge. This room will consist of cool lighting, plenty of plugs for your devices, and tons of beanbags for you to relax on while you meet new people and exchange friend codes.
On top of these changes, we will be adding the Shado Gaming League - or "SGL" for short. ShadoCon will be putting up a total of $1,500.00 in prize money for the winners of these 3 tournaments - Street Fighter 4: 2013 Edition, Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3, and Super Smash Bros Melee. To enter these tournaments, it's $15.00 at the door or you can purchase our special "Weekend - Tournament Edition" pass. Anyone who has already purchased a ShadoCon pass will be allowed to upgrade their pass at the convention for a discounted rate. The same goes for VIP pass holders. This new pass is now live on the site, so get it now.
The top 8 contenders for each game will move on to the main stage at ShadoCon. This is where things become even more fun. You will be competing on the main ShadoCon stage. This event will be recorded and streamed online. Each contender will be brought on stage with their own intro music. To top it off, this whole event will be hosted by Kyle Hebert, the voice of Ryu and many other beloved characters. The top 8 will all receive medals for competing, the top 3 will receive special prizes, and first place will be awarded the cash prize!
All the tournament information will be posted on the ShadoCon website later this week. We will keep you updated as we go, so check back often!

05/08/13 - New Guests: Bryce Papenbrook and Cherami Leigh |
For the last of our updates today, I hope you’re ready to meet both of the heroes from Sword Art Online… We would like to announce two very special guests coming to ShadoCon –
Bryce Papenbrook and Cherami Leigh!
Bryce Papenbrook has been a professional voice over artist since the age of eight. He was introduced to the voice acting scene by his father, Bob Papenbrook, and has continued the trade in his footsteps. Bryce has performed in numerous video games, cartoons, and television shows. Some recent roles include Kirito in Sword Art Online, Rin Okumura in Blue Exorcist, Henry in Fire Emblem Awakening, Asbel Lhant in Tales of Graces F, Zidane Tribal in Final Fantasy Dissidia 012, Masaomi Kida in Durarara!!, and Guan Ping in Dynasty Warriors. Past leading roles include Shugo in .hack//Sign Legend of the Twilight, Jack in MAR, Jack Russell in Radiata Stories, Hanabusa Aido in Vampire Knight, and Isami Fujiwara in Noein.
Cherami Leigh is an on camera and voice actor from Dallas. In the Anime World she has appeared as Asuna in “Sword Art Online,” Lucy in “Fairy Tail,” Road in “D. Grayman, ” Sae in “Peach Girl,” Yuti La in “Heroic Age,” Elizabeth in “Black Butler,” Patty in “Soul Eater,” Ayano in “Kaze no Stigma,” Natsumi in “Sgt. Frog,” Naomi in “Witchblade,” Yoshika in “Strike Witches,” Elicia Hughes in “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood”, Setsuna and Akira in “Negima,” Mai in “Ghost Hunt,” Tamaki in “Bamboo Blade,” Himawari in “XXXholic,” Cecily in “Sacred Blacksmith,” Liechtenstein in “Hetalia,” Takeshita in “B Gata H Kei,” Kneesocks in “Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt “, Sunako in “Shiki” among others. And was recently announced to be playing Suzuha in “Steins;Gate” and Shana in “Shakugan no Shana.” She has other projects both animated and on camera that are in various stages of development that she will share soon. She loves screenwriting, painting, making jewelry and positive quotations, reading and stars!

05/08/13 - New Guests: HEY ASH, WHATCHA PLAYIN'? |
Another group of guests we have the distinct pleasure of announcing is the cast of the popular web series, " Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'?"
Conceived in 2008, each episode of HAWP is a satire-filled and surreally humorous exploration of one particular game. Ashley, the titular Ash, is unhinged and borderline psychotic as she simultaneously explores popular video games and antagonizes her brother. Anthony, the long-suffering brother, is the only sane person in many of the episodes and is frequently injured, his cries for help going unheeded. Ashley Davis, Anthony's girlfriend-turned-wife, is the wide-eyed innocent foil to the other two, occasionally displaying bursts of psychotic evil as she threatens Ash.
This web series is a roller coaster of laughter, shock, and "Can you believe they just did that?"
In addition to his work on HAWP, Anthony Burch was a lead writer on Borderlands 2 and works for Gearbox. Ashley Burch was the voice of Tiny Tina in Borderlands 2, and also participated in several short films. Ashley Davis is the producer of the web series Once Upon a Pixel.
All three will be making an appearance at ShadoCon this year, so don't miss out on this opportunity.

Hey everyone! We've got a new guest for you all today. Making his return to ShadoCon after 3 years, everyone please welcome back KYLE HEBERT!!!
Kyle Hebert is a Los Angeles-based anime and video game voice actor whose credits include Wreck-It Ralph/Street Fighter (Ryu), Naruto (Kiba), Bleach (Aizen, Ganju), League of Legends (Ezreal, Jarvan, and Graves) and Gurren Lagann (Kamina). He is best known as the Narrator and Teen Gohan from the Funimation dub of Dragonball Z. Other notable roles include Fate/Zero (Beserker), Blue Exorcist (Bon Suguro), Fire Emblem Awakening (Frederick, Validar), Guild Wars 2 (Great Ginz, Ogron, Hamar), Fullmetal Alchemist (Vato Falman), Tales of Symphonia (Richter Abend) and Star Ocean (Dias, Arumat, Crow). Kyle can also be heard in numerous video game franchises such as Sonic, Final Fantasy, World of Warcraft, Skylanders, Devil May Cry, Dynasty Warriors, Soul Calibur and Resident Evil. 03/04/13 - Characters Sneak Peak |
We have got a special sneak peek for you today! We are releasing three characters from each of the ShadoCon shows. Then for the next couple of weeks you can look forward to seeing another new character from each of these shows. This will happen specifically on Mondays. Why you ask? Personally, I think Mondays are lame, so why not have something to look forward to?

03/02/13 - Artist and Dealers Now Open! |
ShadoCon exhibitors are now live. That's right, you can now apply to be a Vendor or Artist at the next ShadoCon.
We will be on all day checking over your exhibitor applications. Make sure to book fast before everything fills up. Also, since we do have a high quantity of you all applying, we will be instituting a new payment schedule. After 1 month of no payment, we will be releasing your booth(s) and contacting the next person on the waiting list.(Note: It may take a little longer for you to get approved if you are applying for the Dealers Domain. Please be patient as we are contacting each vendor individually.)

02/03/13 - New Guest: Dante Basco |
You asked, and we delivered! After polling all of you, sending out many inquiries, and playing the dreaded waiting game, ShadoCon is extremely happy to announce that Dante Basco has been added to the line-up!
With a career spanning over two and a half decades, DANTE BASCO is a Hollywood actor who has become a cult classic and pioneering figure in Asian American cinema. He was first introduced in Steven Spielberg’s fairytale movie Hook, as “Rufio”, the leader of the Lost Boys. He quickly jumped to leading roles like Newline’s Take the Lead, opposite Antonio Banderas, and The Debut, which became the voice of a Filipino American generation. 20th Century Fox executives were so mesmerized by the uniqueness of Dante’s look and ability that they gave him a development deal for his own series and he starred in a pilot for Touchstone/ABC, The Chang Family Saves the World, written and produced by John Ridley and directed by Paris Barclay. Ever versatile, he’s “Jake Long” in Disney’s animated series American Dragon: Jake Long as well as “Prince Zuko” in Nickelodeon’s phenomenal hit, Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Welcome everyone to a new year and a new ShadoCon! We have updated the website and we are locked in and ready to roll. We are starting off strong with a whole lot of updates.
New Dates!
ShadoCon will be popping up a little earlier this year. Our new dates will be October 4-6, 2013. This way you won't have to wait as long to see all your favorite guests and events!

You can now pre-register for ShadoCon! All the passes are up and ready to be purchased. Remember, to get you maximum savings get your passes early and with 10 or more people. Weekend passes are only $35.00 right now and if you purchase 10 or more you get and additional 10% off the price.

New Hotel!
ShadoCon's new hotel will be the beautiful Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay! We heard your cries and we made sure to address them all accordingly. First off, FREE SELF PARKING! This is definitely one really nice perk. We also moved away from downtown to a more secluded area. If you haven't seen this hotel, check it out now.
No, don't worry - I'll wait..
Back? Yeah, it's fabulous! There is a fantastic nature trail to take all your cool cosplay pics at, a beach side resort with hammocks and all, two huge pools, and so much more. Oh, by the way, we talked with the hotel and they will keep the pools open til 12 midnight for us! (Just don't be too crazy or they will kick you out.) There is even a shuttle that takes you to the mall and the airport. Plus the layout for this place is huge! The hallways are much wider, so there is room to breathe and room to hang out. There are about 35 acres of land at this resort, so you won't be as cramped.
